For example, the issue arises if you navigate to a folder with your code repo and type code . it will open that folder in 'Cursor' instead of 'VS Code'.
May 15, 2025 · What OS are you running VS Code in? Are you able to select different language models, or is the selection just gone? When was the last time it worked? Have you checked with your network admins to see if any firewall changes happened recently? Do you have other software on the same machine that is working with Copilot right now?

Jun 24, 2024 · I just had the same issue. I just installed VS Code on my Mac and it could not find the command to select the interpreter. Turns out that I was running in restricted mode! I had to 'trust' to enable running program, sorry I did nt take a screenshot at the time!
